"Forward Deployed Engineer" is just a name for what I've always done: move from a clear destination and an unclear path to a working system. For 25 years — startup to enterprise — I've been the bridge between business need and technical execution, owning the whole arc from problem discovery to a first version someone else can scale. The roles changed. The pattern never did: the right problem is rarely the first one.
